Week 1: First book finished on summer.
I am a person who loves reading, i read any kind of book, i dont judge it by its cover neither by its amount of pages. At the end of every school year my parents buy my from 6-10 books to keep me entertained the whole summer. The first book i read was "Hunger" by Michael Grant. This book is the saga of "Gone" the first book. The story takes place on Perdido Beach, its about how mysteriously every person over the age of 15 years old disappeared with just a simple "poof", there are no longer any teachers nor polices officers, no grandparents, no mad and creepy neighbors and certainly no PARENTS. A weird and electric wall is surrounding them keeping them from not moving out of Perdido Beach. At first every child thought it was the best thing that could of ever happened, they could now eat what they wanted whenever they wanted, no sleeping curfews,no homework, of course no school, no rules nor laws everyone was free and ON THEIR OWN. Everything was just perfect, until some of the kids started mutating "powers" this kids were known as the "Mutants" some could heal themselves and others, some could run really fast some could simply melt things and other weird stuff but, some could do absolutely NOTHING. The first book's problem was the rivalry between the local kids and Coates Academy A.K.A super rich-trouble making-sent to boarding school-kids. The feuds began, feuds caused by the want of Leading. Caine (coates guy. power: telekinesis.) wanted to become a sort of Dictator and control everyone and everyhting. Sam(local guy. power: light/flame/fire thrower.) was currently leading everyone, not because he wanted but because they chose him. Caine and Sam get into a feud at the end Sam wins. On the second book, everything seemed perfect until they are running out of food, there is not much left to eat and kids are die literally dying of hunger, some are even deciding on "stepping out", it turns out that when you turn 15 you "poof out" like the the others you simply disappear, but there are ways of not "poofing" and staying. Both books are very good, they are worth reading and i cant wait until the 3rd book comes out "Lies".
Week 2: SURPRISE CALL!!
One night while i was shaving dinner with my parents like we usually do our conversation was interrupted by our home phone, it was late and we really werent expecting any calls at the moment. when one our our maids answered she looked at us with a very puzzled look and without saying a word she handed the phone to my dad, my maid had been very confused when she awnsered the phone because the person who was calling was my uncle form the states who started speaking english right away with my maid because he though it was my sister on the phone. We were all very delighted and surprised
with this call because they usually let us know when they are going to call and it had been a really long time since we had spoken, when it was my turn to speak i realized that it was not my uncle who was speaking with me it was my cousin Monica, which i had not spoken in a veryy long time, this was the best surprise. My cousin who was born in the states and has lived there ever since she was born never really learned how to speak fluent spanish so each time we speak i have to speak in english i always like to help her with her spanish homework and essays. My cousin rarely comes to visit us here at Honduras so when we see each other its because i have flown all the way to Atalnta to meet her. Monica is 15 years old just like me and out birthdays are very close so we really understand and like each other a lot, that was not until we were around 12 years old when we were younger we thought of each other as a threat and a competition since we were both the same age we both constantly fought about who was better,prettier,smarter and other really stupid things. Though we never ever fought in front of our parents we acted like we loved each other and we were the best of friends, right now we just laugh on how stupid we were and realize on how much we were losing.
Week 3: a twihard (twilight fan)DISAPPOINTED :(:(
As a typical teenage girl i have a total obession with TWILIGHT. Summer of 2010 the summer i had been waiting for since they announced the date release for twilight's 3rd and best book ECLIPSE, ive read eclipse about 3 times i know, pretty lame, weird and stupid from the fact that the whole mystery and exitement of the book is gone once you have read it once, but im a huge fan and i just love eclipse. So, the movie was due to release this summer i was so exited and happy i had counted the days until THE DAY i woke up early that morning got ready had breakfast made my plans and around 1pm i was on my way to the movies with some other friends. We all made a 6 hour line to be the 1st group in front, get the best seats and watch the movie we had been waiting for a whole long year. i think a part of me died in AGONY watching that movie, such a bad MOVIE. i think i cried but im not sure if it was from laughter or of the tears were of disappointment and sadness.
Week 4: The Incredibles
I have a 3 and half yard old little brother, sometimes he gets really obsessed over things. Recently he has been playing the disney movie The Incredibles over and over again. As a good older sister i always sit with him everyday and watch the movie up to 3 times in a row. My little brother and I now know always every line from the movie and we recite them at the same time as the character in the movie is saying them. We both have our favorite characters to play he likes to be Dash the middle child of the Incredible family whose super power is super speed, my favorite character is Violet which is he oldest daughter of the family and has the ability to make her self invisible and to create a super shield that helps her protect her family and herself. My brother is going to be on nursery this year, i think his english is going to be much better than his classmates now that he can recite almost a complete english speaking movie.
Week 5: The Last Song
This week i just finished reading the Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. Almost every girl at school was either reading the book or talking about it, i never really payed much attention to it because i haver never really liked those kind of books, im more into action and fantasy stuff. My two best friends Vero and Bandes convinced me to go ahead and read the book, so i did. the book was really good and i couldnt stop reading it i HAD to finish the book. When i got to the last 5 pages of the book i didnt want to finish it i wanted it to keep on going and never stop. i did finish the book at the end and now i just cant wait to see the movie!!
Week 6: City of Bones
This week i just finished reading a book called City of Bone by Cassandra Clare. This book is about a young girl named Clary which is 16 years old and just found out about another world she didnt know existed. All her life she thought she was a father orphan, but when her mother is kidnapped by "Downwolders" of demos she goes off to look for her, in her journey she learns lots of things and meets a lot of creepy creatures she once though only lived in fairy tales. Clary meets handsome Jace, Jace is a Shadowhunter, his job is to kill every Downwolder who is misbehaving, both of them sort of fall in love with each other. At the end of the book both of them find out they are SIBLINGS, they both share the loving mother and the supposed dead father Valentine. Valentine is a bad man who has the vision of killing EVERY single demon and become a ambitious leader to all creatures. i am looking forward on reading the second book "City of Ashes".
Week 7: Fallen
This week i read Fallen by Lauren Kate. This book was about a girl who sees this creepy looking shadows, this shadows haunt her day and night and when something really bad is about to happen a lot of them appear at the same time. There was a mysterious fire and the police blamed her for the fire and the death of the boy she had a crush on. She is sent off to a really strict boarding school were every "bad" child is sent. In that place she meets this beautiful and mysterious looking boy called Daniel, every time she wants tot alk to him or be nice he just blows her off and acts all rude, on the other hand there is Cam who is very cute and looks like if he really is into her. At the end of the story she finds out that both Daniel and Cam are fallen angels, the only difference between them its the side they are on. Cam is in the really dark side, while Daniel is on the good side. Luce (the main character) happens to be Daniel's true love, both Luce and Daniel have meat dozens of times on before lives. A war has begun between both sides, both sides are fighting for Luce. I will have to wait for Torrent the second book to find out who wins.
Week 8:The Strangers/The Collector/The Hills have eyes1&2/Some other scary movies.
This week i saw one of the most terrifying movies i have ever seen. i gathered with some of my friends and we all decided to hang out and watch some movies, we ended up renting only scary movies and saw them ALL, one after the other. Some of the movies that we saw were The Strangers, The Collector, The Hills have eyes 1 & 2, The New daughter and some others. All of these movies were so scary i dont think ill be able to sleep for the rest of the year, all this movies involved massacres, wierd creatures, and BLOOD a lot of blood. This week there were alot of screams and laughter, i had a really good time im just a little sad to realize that my summer is over and its time to go back to REALITY :(. i will miss all the fun, but im looking forward to this year.
